Rick Steves' European Christmas Overview

From England to Norway, Burgundy to Bavaria, and Rome to the top of the Swiss Alps, Rick Steves’ European Christmas gets you a seat at the family feast, up in the loft with the finest choirs, and into the kitchen with grandma and her best-kept holiday secrets. The Christmas we know today is a rich and fascinating mix of traditions that came over on the boat — an ancient celebration with pre-Christian roots. From Yule logs to mistletoe, from singing shepherds to the split personalities of Santa, from traditional recipes to the top ten ways to celebrate in Paris, you’ll learn something new — or old — about Christmas.

Drives me nuts... - Jewels -
Whilst politically it was called Eastern Europe (or Eastern Block, rather), geographically it's Central Europe. The CIA World Factbook describes the following countries as located in:

Central Europe: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Romania can be included in Eastern Europe in the Cold War context, but is commonly referred to as belonging to South-eastern Europe or Central Europe.

Eastern Europe: Belarus, Estonia[13], Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine. Romania can be included in Eastern Europe in the Cold War context, but is commonly referred to as belonging to South-eastern Europe or Central Europe.

Also, the correct spelling is 'Habsburgs', not 'Hapsburgs' - drives me crazy when apparently learned people keep making and perpetuating mistakes like this. Yes, the pronunciation sounds like [haps], but spelt with a 'b' instead of a 'p'.
